What is Scar Treatment (Scar Revision)?
Scar (scar) treatment; It is the name given to the aesthetic operation performed on the skin (skin) in any part of the body, on the skin (skin) for the purpose of the treatment of scars that have formed due to accidents, surgery and similar reasons, that disrupt the natural appearance and have a distinct structure.
In the area where the scar occurs, with the volume it covers, it can sometimes be indistinctly, or even so remarkable that it can negatively affect the social life of the person, and even cause movement restriction.

Scarring can occur for many reasons. These reasons; It can occur after cutting the skin, stinging something into the skin, accident, infection, some skin diseases, burns and all kinds of surgical operations.

Everything You Need To Know About Scar Treatment (Scar Revision)

Scar treatment prices are completely personal. The scar treatment price is budgeted by determining the most appropriate treatment model in the light of the size of the scar, why and how it is formed, whether it is new or old, the expectations of the person and all these data.

In addition to all these factors, details such as the doctor who will perform the surgery, the hospital where the surgery will be performed and the hotel services connected to this hospital, whether the scar can be evaluated within the scope of SSK, also affect the scar treatment prices.
Scar treatment is an operation that can be performed for anyone, both men and women, whose general health condition is suitable for surgery, without any health problems.

The healing of a wound differs from person to person. Criteria such as the person's age, race, genetic factors, the area where the wound is on the body affect the result. For this reason, scar treatment is completely personal and the method to be applied varies according to the characteristics of the scar.
Scar treatment can be planned with more than one method according to the nature of the wound. All scar surgeries are performed under general anesthesia, in a hospital environment, by plastic surgeons.

Correction of scars can be reduced and closed with some procedures that can be done, but cannot be completely eliminated. The surgical method to be applied varies according to the characteristics of the scar.
1- Z - Plasty Method:
Scar treatment with Z plasty method; It is based on removing the old scar and making the existing scar less obvious by making the scar direction of the relevant area more compatible with the natural lines.

The goal of this surgical technique is to reduce the tension on the skin surface caused by the scar and to make the scar less obvious. In this method, the scar does not disappear completely. The operation can be completed under local anesthesia, since it does not require hospitalization, it is a more economical option for scar treatment compared to other applications.
2- Skin Grafting Method:
It is one of the most comprehensive scar surgery methods. It is performed under general anesthesia and there is a minimum of 1 night hospital stay. Skin Grafting Method healing process extends up to 1 year with supportive bandage treatment. In this method; a healthy part of the body is considered a donor area.

The skin to be taken from the donor area is transferred to the scar area. The goal of this surgery technique is; It is the replacement of healthy skin tissue, traumatized tissue with scar, and the removal of existing scar and lightening. In this method, some traces may occur in both the receiving and donor areas.
3- Flap Surgery Method:
It is another of the most comprehensive scar surgery methods. It is performed under general anesthesia and there is a minimum of 1 night hospital stay. In the flap surgery method, a healthy area of the remoteness is considered a donor area. The skin and subcutaneous area (muscle, fat…) are removed from the donor area together. This piece of skin has a vascular structure and is fed by its own circulatory system, so it adapts faster to the area it is transferred to. Generally, the Flap Surgery method gives better cosmetic results than the Skin Grafting method.
The most effective method of scar treatment. It is a Scar Treatment. However, some wounds are more superficial, smaller in scale in terms of the area covered. Criteria such as the depth and volume of the wound, as well as the time of occurrence and the time elapsed over this time, may provide positive results for some alternative treatment methods.

While methods such as scar cream, laser scar treatment, skin peeling (dermabrasion) create alternative treatment options to scar surgery, natural treatment methods (such as lemon juice, honey cure, baking soda, cucumber paste ...) It appears as formulas tried by.

A specialist doctor's opinion should be taken to find the most appropriate treatment method for you in scar correction. The size of the wound, how long ago it was formed, its depth and the region where it is located, and of course your personal preferences are important criteria of the treatment method to be applied.

The goal should be to get rid of the scar with the most effective method as soon as possible. Incorrect treatments will prolong the process and in some cases will result in irreversible results. It is important that all options, including scar cream, are applied under the supervision of a doctor.
Scar treatment; Whether the scar is caused by an injury or an operation, it should be planned at least 6 months after the scar is formed in order to obtain ideal results in treatment. Before deciding on scar surgery, all options for the treatment of the scar should be evaluated with an expert plastic surgeon.
The scar can be improved with different and alternative treatment methods, depending on criteria such as its structure and location and volume. For example; A slightly rough scar with a large surface on the skin can be treated with "dermabrasion" method.

It is important to follow the process under the control of a doctor as soon as the scar occurs. Because the scar development process develops differently for each person. The important criterion here is the physical and structural characteristics of the person.

Criteria such as the person's age, genetic makeup, the part of the body where the scar occurs, the person's race and even skin color; causes the same traumas to produce different results. For example; In some people, the scars heal, leaving a raised, hard, itchy, red colored and bad scar from the skin surface. This condition is called "keloid". If it is intervened before keloid formation, its development can be stopped.
In the first week of the healing process after scar treatment, it is usual for the person to develop complaints such as pain, swelling, edema and redness. In order to relieve these complaints, your doctor will give you some pain relievers, creams or ointments. Regular use of these drugs, correct dressing and control stages are important for a comfortable healing process.
One of the issues to be considered in the healing process after scar surgery is to avoid unhealthy foods and habits, which are known to have a negative effect on the healing process. Smoking and alcohol consumption should be stopped before scar surgery and should not be used after scar surgery.
Although rare, some side effects, risks and complications may occur after scar surgery. Therefore, you will usually need to stay in the hospital for 1 day after surgery. It is important not to consume blood thinners and foods against the risk of any blood accumulation or bleeding before the surgery.

As with all surgical operations, complications or allergic reactions may occur due to anesthesia intake, and postoperative infection risk may be observed. It is important to strictly follow the doctor's recommendations in order to eliminate these risks and complications and to prevent their occurrence.
