What is PRP?

PRP is an application that allows the treatment of almost all injured and damaged areas.

To rejuvenate the skin on the back layer of the face, neck, décolleté, hands and feet; PRP treatment can be used in hair loss treatments, to improve problems such as cracks, spots, acne and acne scars.

Everything You Need To Know About PRP

PRP prices vary depending on personal details such as the area where the application will be performed and the number of sessions. Another factor affecting PRP prices is the location of the clinic or hospital environment where the PRP procedure will be performed. While PRP applications for aesthetic purposes are not covered by both SSI and private insurances, PRP applications for health purposes can be performed in some state hospitals and research hospitals with the assurance of SGK.

PRP prices are priced per session. The average price of an aesthetic PRP application varies between 1000 TL and 3000 TL.
PRP, in general, is the treatment of the problematic areas of the person by applying the plasma obtained by separating the part rich in thrombocyte from the person himself. Thrombocytes in the blood have a healing structure due to their functions. Repair of damage and stopping of bleeding in any part of the body is done by platelets. PRP is based on making more thrombocyte supplements to the damaged area.
PRP treatment is a medical application that is completed within an average of 30 minutes. Application steps; Anticoagulant, which is an anticoagulant substance, is put into the syringe of 1- 20 cc size.

2- The blood of the person to be treated with PRP is drawn into the injector containing Anticoagulant. The purpose here is to release the blood-clotting platelets.
3- Centrifuge stage is started. In all of these process steps, care is taken that the blood taken from the person does not come into contact with air. Satrifuge is completed within 8 minutes.
4- In this process step known as the vortex effect, platelets in the blood are separated from other blood cells.
5- The obtained plasma enriched in thrombocyte, ie PRP, is taken into the syringe.
6- The last step is completed by injecting PRP appropriately to the area to be treated.

The first thing observed in the recovery process after PRP is the revitalization and healthy brightness of the skin of the person. During the healing process after PRP, redness and similar complaints may be observed in the area where PRP is applied. After PRP, the effect of the procedure on the person becomes visible within an average of 3-4 weeks. After the PRP application, the person can return to his daily life immediately.

In order to avoid complaints such as bruising and bleeding, it is recommended that the person stay away from blood thinners and foods, and apply ice compresses to the injection points and the PRP area.
Anyone over the age of 18 who has no health problems is suitable candidates for PRP treatment. If PRP needs to be applied due to health problems, treatment can be performed without waiting for the 18 age limit depending on the doctor's recommendation.

  • Healthy individuals who have started aging marks in areas such as face, neck, décolleté, hand and back of the feet and need aesthetic intervention;

  • People with skin deformed by the harmful effects of UV rays,
  • Healing of wounds, cracks and those whose skin quality is damaged, which takes a long time to heal,
  • People with hair loss problems
PRP application is the appropriate treatment method for
People who will undergo PRP treatment must be individuals older than 18 years of age and have no health problems.
  • People with low thrombocyte count, ie "Thrombocytopenia" patients;
  • People whose blood fibrinogen level (Hypofibrinogenemia) is lower than normal;
  • People who have to use blood thinners,
  • People with blood clotting problems,
  • People with febrile illness,
  • Pregnant and breastfeeding people,
  • People with sepsis, acute and chronic infections,
  • People with chronic liver pathology,
  • People who are under cancer treatment or who have had cancer treatment,
It is not suitable for PRP treatment.

1- The use of some drugs should be discontinued 3-4 days before PRP treatment.
  • Blood thinners
  • Hormone medications
  • Medicines used to treat flu
  • Pain relief medications
  • Antidepressants

2- It is recommended to wait for a while after PRP treatment for the use of the same drugs.

3- After PRP treatment, a cold ice compress is recommended to the treated area for a few days following the procedure.

4- During and immediately after the PRP treatment, the skin should be protected from sunlight, and the person should avoid activities such as solarium and sunbathing.

5- After the PRP treatment, it is important not to travel by plane for 7 days following the session.
How many sessions of PRP treatment will be planned varies from person to person. Another factor that affects the number of sessions is the type of treatment. Although it varies depending on these two effects, PRP treatment gives results in 3-6 sessions.

The length of session intervals is also related to the type of treatment. Generally, PRP sessions are planned at 2-3 week intervals. PRP applications accompanied by mesotherapy are planned 3-4 sessions every 15 days, after an average of 10 months pause, the same treatment is repeated and the process is terminated.

In PRP treatment planned with filling and mesotherapy, PRP application is planned for a total of 3 sessions every 21-28 days. In the 6th month following the end of the session, the success of the application is checked by the doctor and the same session is repeated 6 months later if necessary.

PRP support treatments can be repeated at the earliest after 1 to 2 years, except in special cases. PRP sessions are repeated every 7-8 months under special circumstances (smoking, menopause process, life in areas with intense UV rays…).
Since PRP treatment is performed with injections produced from the person's own blood, no allergic reaction occurs. The risk of infection is also very low in PRP treatment. Performing the application by the person's experts in the right environment with disposable equipment is the factor that eliminates the risk of infection. Since it is a medical application, PRP should be performed in a hospital or a fully equipped clinic environment.

After the PRP application, short-term bruises can be observed in the areas with needle penetrations. This is a temporary situation and does not pose a health problem. It resolves spontaneously within the first week with regular ice compresses.
Before PRP treatment, regional numbness is provided with creams that have anesthetic effect in the area where PRP will be applied. Although there is a slight discomfort in the areas where the needle is inserted, it is generally a painless procedure. While there is no discomfort in people with a high pain threshold, this situation differs from person to person.
