We Draw Attention To 7 Items In Medical Aesthetics
In the news in Habertürk, Dr. Sevgi Ekiyor drew attention to 7 items in medical aesthetics.
Dr. Sevgi Ekiyor gave the following information in items:
1. Is Botox harmful to health and can it be done during pregnancy?
Although Botox is a toxin, it is not harmful to health. Some complications, however, when not properly dosed; Asymmetry in the eyebrows, a confused facial expression due to excessively raised eyebrows, not being able to raise the eyebrows at all, drooping eyebrows and eyelids, difficulty in speaking after application to the rim, not removing wrinkles or not lifting eyebrows due to insufficient application can be seen.
These can also be corrected by the physician.
The reliability of Botox during pregnancy or breastfeeding has not been established and it is in the C category.
Botox is not recommended to be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
2. Does Botox cause swelling in the face and under the eyes?
Botox does not act as a filler.
It causes temporary and full or partial paralysis of the facial muscles depending on the application need.
As the other adjacent mimic muscles start to work more effectively, the folds in that area that the patient did not notice before increase and the patient is thought to have swelling and bagging from custody. It has no such effect.
3. What is the most commonly used hyarulonic acid among fillers?
Hyaluronic acid is an important substance in the human body for health and decreases in the body at later ages.
It has been used as a filler since the second half of the 19th century and it is a very reliable method. It also has many benefits such as reducing wrinkles, water balance, and softening effect on joints.
The filler only affects the area where it is located. It has the ability to collect water around it and therefore swelling may be observed in applications.
This swelling, which may regress spontaneously, can still be overcome with measures such as not consuming alcohol for a few days, occasional cold application, avoiding environments such as very hot water, steam, sauna.
The effect of temporary fillings varies between 6 months and 24 months.
This time depends on the content and density of the selected filling.
Due to the decrease in the amount of fat and water in the skin of the patient, it may not be satisfactory to get satisfactory results in the study by demanding less filler on a budget. The spontaneous destruction of the filling is not expected unless the hyalurinidase enzyme that will destroy the filling in your body is more than normal levels or is consumed from outside.
4. Does mesotherapy make palpitations worsen? What side effects can there be?
Symptoms such as palpitations, nausea, dizziness, which we call systemic, are not expected in mesotherapy.
In mesotherapy, burning sensation, redness, and tenderness can only cause bruising at the injection sites.
These are the side effects that will pass by avoiding hot water, sauna steam and not consuming alcohol for a few days with ice and cream applications recommended by the physician.
5. Does tanning prevent the procedure?
Tanning is a condition that increases the dead cells of the upper skin layer, which causes water loss in the skin structure and increases tension.
For this reason, it is an obstacle for facial peeling with acid and laser skin rejuvenation and laser epilation procedures to be applied to the whole face.
In general, we recommend that all our patients do not have direct contact with the sun, use sunscreen and sunbathing at 10.00-11.00 or after 16.00 to protect from the harmful effects of UV rays.
6. Botox is used in the treatment of excessive sweating, how is its effect and for which areas?
Its use in the treatment of hyperhidrosis depends on the temporary blocking of the nerves that reach the sweat glands, which temporarily stops sweat formation.
It is most commonly used in armpit sweating, hands and feet. The effect period lasts 39 months. It is not very effective in facial sweating.
It is not suitable for those who do not want aesthetic changes in that area as it will cause tension on the skin in facial applications. In general, it is aimed to spend the summer period happily in people who have botox injections in the spring.
7. Hair transplantation fails in some people. What are the reasons for this and what would you recommend?
Taking the hair or hair out of the tissue from the body; The process of placing it in another body or balding area (balding or in another area on the body) is called hair transplantation.
Hair transplantation is a type of tissue transplant and this transplant is done with the person's own tissue. It is most commonly applied for male pattern androgenic spills in men.
There are some points that need to be considered before and after hair transplantation.
It is important to prepare suitable treatments such as PRP, mesotherapy, hair botox for the scalp hair transplantation of the person.
Any vitamin deficiency in the body, such as hormonal disorders, should be detected and treatments should be initiated for them.
After the procedure, full success can only be achieved on the basis of disrupting the mechanism of repeating the same thing in a region that has lost hair.
