What is Bishectomy (Hollywood Cheek)?

Bichectomy, also known as the Hollywood cheek (because it is an application preferred by Hollywood stars) is the process of removing the cheek fat called bichat from the cheek area, that is, with a small incision made in the mouth. The fat tissues removed during the procedure, which serves to make the cheekbones prominent by removing the plump and round appearance on the face, are not of vital importance for the body.

Bichectomy surgery, also known as the Hollywood Cheek, allows the patient to return to his daily life almost immediately, as the operation time is short and the skin does not require external intervention.

Hollywood cheek aesthetics, whose popularity has increased worldwide in the last few years and is extremely effective, is applied to both female and male patients. Faces with Hollywood star lines are achieved.

Everything You Need To Know About Bishectomy (Hollywood Cheek)

Bichectomy, or cheek aesthetics, is a simple aesthetic procedure that takes about 1 hour and does not require a crowded team. The type of anesthesia to be applied to the patient for the procedure is one of the factors that determine the price. In addition, the doctor fee is the criteria that affect the price in the province and district where the clinic is located. While bichectomy prices are 5000 TL on average across the country, this figure can reach up to 8000 TL in some districts in metropolitan cities.
Cheek fullness, which does not depend on the person's weight, is usually a genetic heritage. In this case, where weight loss and exercise do not affect the thinning of the face, cheek aesthetics, which is the latest fashion application of plastic surgery, is a good solution option.

After the detailed face analysis performed by the surgeon, the patient, who is decided to be suitable for bichectomy, is prepared for the operation under general or local anesthesia in a sterile operating room environment, sometimes with sedation. After approximately 1 centimeter incisions made into both cheeks, bichat fat pads are removed and incisions are stitched. The duration of the operation takes about 1 hour, including the anesthesia procedure. Patients can return to their homes immediately after the operation and continue their daily lives.
Bichectomy is a practical surgical procedure that is preferred to have a face similar to the perfect face shape determined by the golden ratio and offers effective permanent results. Any woman or man who has completed their anatomical development and ideally over the age of 25 can have this procedure after doctor's approval.
However, bichectomy is not recommended for people whose facial structure is already thin and who may develop noticeable depressions on their face after cheek aesthetics.
Bichectomy is an easy procedure compared to other surgical applications in the field. Most of the time, after the surgery performed under local anesthesia, since the intervention is through the cheek, the social life of the patients is not affected and it is possible to return to work immediately. After the procedure:
  • Antibiotics and pain relievers prescribed by the doctor should be used
  • Oral rinses given by the doctor should be applied regularly to eliminate the risk of infection.
  • Fluids should be fed for the first few days
  • Ice should be applied to the area for tenderness and swelling in the cheeks.
After the surgery, the swelling in the cheeks goes down within a few weeks. Although bichectomy can achieve the image imagined in a very short time, it sometimes takes 4 months for the edema around the face to completely disappear after the operation. At the end of this period, as the fatty tissue in the cheeks disappears and the swelling due to the surgery disappears completely, a significant thinning is achieved. The facial structure becomes closer to the V form and the targeted appearance emerges.
Since bichectomy is a procedure that provides facial thinning by surgically removing the intra-cheek fat pads, the results obtained are permanent. Even if weight is gained after the procedure, the cheeks do not return to their original state.
  • It is an easy operation with short processing time.
  • The results are almost immediately visible and satisfying.
  • It provides the opportunity to permanently slim the round face lines that cannot be solved with weight loss and exercise.
  • It provides more effective and completely permanent results than other aesthetic operations such as face filling and cheek prosthesis.
  • The postoperative recovery period is painless and short.

  • Very rarely, if the amount of fat taken from both cheeks is not equal, an asymmetrical facial appearance may occur.
  • There is no scientific research showing the effects of post-operative results in advanced ages.
  • There are risks such as bleeding and infection that may occur after each operation.
